Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former Union Minister Jaisigrao Gaekwad Patil resigned from the primary membership of the party on Tuesday. Patil sent his resignation to Maharashtra Pradesh BJP President Chandrakant Patil on Tuesday morning.

The senior leader said that earlier he had served as a minister in the central and Maharashtra governments.
He claimed, "I don't want to be an MP or MLA. I wanted to work to strengthen the party and I have been demanding responsibility for a decade. But, till now the party has not given me any chance. ”When contacted, the BJP state president refused to comment.
