Because of the possible increase in the number of passengers in the festive season of October-November, Indian Railways will operate about 200 additional trains. Railway Board Chairman and CEO Vinod Kumar Yadav said through a virtual press conference on Thursday that the railway is constantly monitoring the situation because of the upcoming festive season. About 200 additional trains can run between 15 October and 30 November.
If needed, their number will be increased further. He said that on Wednesday itself, the Railway Board, after meeting with the General Managers of all the zones, has instructed them to analyze the previous and this year's passenger traffic patterns and the conditions of the Corona period and give their approximate number of run of all trains .
Meanwhile, the Indian Railways has made a record of 102 million tonnes of goods loading in September, the best performance in any year.
