India always followed independent foreign policy: External Affairs Ministry


External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Anurag Shrivastava said that India has always followed an independent foreign policy and is also maintaining this policy in defense procurement and supply. His statement came on the threat of sanctions in a US Congress report on the purchase of the Russian-made S-400 air defense system.

There is an overall global strategic partnership between India and the US, Srivastava said. We also have special relations with Russia. India has always followed an independent foreign policy.
