Experts of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) have said that like influenza, the coronavirus can reach the local stage. That is, it will exist forever in a certain population and area. However, experts have said that the mutation of this virus is normal and there is no need to worry about it.
Dr. Samiran Panda, head of ICMR's Division of Epidemiology and Communicable Diseases, said, "Korana has now become like influenza. As a result, at-risk populations may have to be vaccinated every year. Influenza is commonly referred to as the flu and was a pandemic 100 years ago, but is now localized. Similarly, the corona will also gradually become localized.
The influenza virus also keeps changing its form, so we keep advising the elderly to take the vaccine every year.
