Gujarat: A health worker infected even after taking a second dose of Covid-19 vaccine


In Gujarat, a health worker has been confirmed to be infected with the Coronavirus just days after taking the second dose of the Kovid-19 vaccine. The Chief Health Officer of Gandhinagar, Dr. MH Solanki, said on Saturday that the health worker, a resident of Dehgam taluka of Gandhinagar district, took the first dose on 16 January and the second dose on 15 February. He had a fever and upon examining his symptoms confirmed his infection.

Solanki said, “They are kept indistinguishable in the house due to very mild symptoms. He told me that he would be in working condition from Monday. ”The official said that after taking both doses of the vaccine, it normally takes 45 days for the body to produce antibodies.

He said that in order to remain safe despite taking both vaccine doses, people should wear masks and strictly follow all the rules related to Kovid-19 including two yards.

As of Friday evening, 2,72,240 people have been confirmed infected and 4,413 deaths due to infection in Gujarat.
