The eighth round of military commander-level meeting between India and China is likely to take place this week to reduce the tension on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh. According to sources, the talks are going on between the two countries.
This dialogue will be important in many ways as the two countries have started discussions to completely withdraw their forces from all the conflict areas. A detailed discussion in this direction is expected in the meeting.
According to sources, in the eighth round meeting, the issue of removing the entire army from other points, including the northern and southern banks of Pagong Lake, will be discussed. On behalf of India, this meeting will be led by Lieutenant General PGK Menon, the new commander of the 14th Corps. He has replaced Lieutenant General Harinder Singh. Lt Gen Singh is now heading the training at the IMA.
After a four-month standoff, India provoked Chinese troops and captured the southern and northern shores of Pagong Lake at high altitude points.
