Cold session of Parliament canceled to avoid discussion on farmer movement: Raut

Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut on Sunday claimed that the central government decided to cancel the winter session of Parliament to avoid discussing the farmer movement.

Raut, in his weekly article 'Roktok' in the Sena mouthpiece Saamana, questioned the need to spend a thousand crore rupees on the Central Vista project, saying what is the need for a new parliament building, when PM Modi to discuss and call a session Not interested.

Raut wrote, Thousands of farmers are protesting on the borders of Delhi against the new agricultural laws brought by the central government. The farmers are adamant about repealing the laws. The winter session of Parliament was canceled only so that there was no discussion on the farmers' movement near Delhi.

PM Modi laid the foundation stone of the new Parliament House on 10 December and termed it as a milestone in India's democratic history. Raut said, the existing Parliament building is fine and can work well for the next 50 to 75 years.
