The construction work of the new parliament building will start from 15 January as part of the Central Government's ambitious Central Vista project. Official sources said, the first morning after Makar Sankranti is considered auspicious to start construction work.
CPWD asked Tata project to start construction
The Central Public Works Department has asked Tata Project Limited to start work from Friday. Earlier, the 14-member heritage committee had given permission to start the construction work of Parliament House on Monday.
According to sources, the Tata project has started gathering the necessary machinery and other equipment to start the construction work. The new Parliament House will be constructed in front of the existing Parliament House. Last month, PM Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the new Parliament House.
As per the plan, the redevelopment work on Rajpath will start after the Republic Day parade. The work is expected to be completed in ten months and the 2022 parade will take place on the redeveloped Rajpath.
