Corona infection has gained momentum in the fifth phase of the assembly elections in West Bengal today, ie on Saturday. Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP) candidate Pradeep Kumar Nandi of Jangipur assembly constituency in Murshidabad district of Bengal died in a hospital due to a corona infection.


A Health Department official said that 73-year-old Pradeep Kumar Nandi was the party's candidate from the Jangipur assembly constituency in Murshidabad district in the West Bengal assembly elections. He was admitted to the Mother House Hospital in Murshidabad after being corona infected, where he died on Friday night while undergoing treatment.



Five more candidates corona infected

Elections are to be held except one seat

A Health Department official said that four of the candidates found infected are candidates from the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and one from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

The official said that Mohammad Ghulam Rabbani from Gwalpokhar of Trinamool Congress, Kalpana Kisaku from Tapan, Dr. Pradeep Kumar Verma from Jalpaiguri, and Asit Majumdar from Chunchuda in Hooghly, while BJP candidate from Matigada-Naxalbari seat Anandamay Burman from Coronavirus Have been found to be infected. Of these, only the Chunchuda seat has been voted in the fourth phase on April 10, while the remaining seats are to be contested in the next phase.

6,910 new corona patients found in 24 hours

The Corona transition has gained momentum amid elections in West Bengal. After receiving 6,910 new patients in the last 24 hours, the number of infection cases increased to 6,43,795. According to a Health Department bulletin, 26 more patients died of the epidemic in the state in the last 24 hours, with the death toll from Corona rising to 10,506.

Most cases were found in Kolkata

According to the Ministry of Health, Kolkata had the highest number of 1,844 new cases a day and nine more people died.
