After the announcement of the creation of a world-class film city in Uttar Pradesh, the Shiv Sena may be feeling the danger of Bollywood coming to an end with Mumbai, but the filmmakers have started liking UP in terms of shooting. Currently, about 150 films are being shot in the state. With this, the Yogi government has started thinking seriously about the plan to build a film city in Purvanchal, while expanding the scope of Film City. In Purvanchal there is a high probability of becoming a film city in Mirzapur adjacent to Varanasi.
State's Additional Chief Secretary (Information) Navneet Sehgal, who was on a two-day visit to Mumbai with the official team of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, said in a special conversation with Amar Ujala that the Chief Minister is very serious about the Film City. Therefore, plans are afoot to make a film city near Varanasi in Purvanchal. He informed that 500 acres of land are being searched for Film City. Sehgal indicated that there is a possibility of a film city in Mirzapur too. When this happens, the Kashi region can become a major center of the film industry.
The shooting of 150 films is going on in UP
Navneet Sehgal said that about 150 films are currently shooting at real locations in UP. Recently the shooting of John Abraham's Satyamev Jayate Part-2 in Lucknow continues in Lucknow. Superstar Amitabh Bachchan's Gulabo-Sitabo was also shot in Lucknow. In addition to shooting a film by Gunjan Saxena, the shooting of many web series is also going on. Filmmakers are also being subsidized through FilmBandhu.

The foundation of Film City was also done on the Lucknow-Kanpur route before the film city was planned in Noida. The land was also seen near Film City for Chitrakoot. But the earlier attempt did not succeed. But this time the Chief Minister is serious about Film City. Surprisingly, there is not a single film city in such a large state. Considering the population of the state and the number of artists, at least two film cities should be created.
