Raj Kundra Case: Accused of pornographic film trade, Raj Kundra appears in court, Mumbai Police seeks 7 days custody


The three-day police custody of Raj Kundra, accused of making obscene videos and doing business in it, ends today i.e. on July 23. The Crime Branch of Mumbai Police has taken Kundra to the Esplanade Code from Byculla Jail on Friday afternoon. The court will decide on Raj today whether he should be granted bail. Remanded to police custody or handed over to judicial custody.

According to media reports, the Mumbai Police can request the court to increase the police custody of Raj and the reason for doing so is being told that Raj's non-cooperation with the police. Let us tell you that Raj Kundra was arrested by the Crime Branch late on Monday night. They are accused of making obscene videos, broadcasting them through the app, and doing business with it. Another accused, Ryan Tharp, was also arrested by the police in this case.

After a medical examination, Raj was taken to the police commissioner's office and produced before the court on Tuesday afternoon, from where he was sent to three days' police custody. The video of Raj being taken from jail to court on Friday was posted by Bollywood photographer Viral. In the video, you can see that Raj is in the same clothes which he was wearing at the time of his arrest.

During Tuesday's appearance, Raj Kundra's lawyer told the court that it would be wrong to call the films made by him as a fetish. According to the news of Times of India, the lawyer has told the court that it is not right to call the films made by Raj Kundra and Ryan Tharp adults. His films can be called indecent but not erotic. Raj Kundra's counsel has also objected to the application of Section 67A of the Information Technology Act for sending obscene material electronically. The lawyer has further said that the web shows that the police are investigating these days are calling them obscene content, while it cannot be classified as adult content.
