Today, the stock market closed on the green mark on Wednesday, the third trading day of the week, following the announcements of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) monetary policy committee. The Bombay Stock Exchange's flagship index Sensex closed at 49661.76, up 460.37 points, or 0.94 percent. On the other hand, the National Stock Exchange's Nifty closed at 14819.05 with a gain of 135.55 points, or 0.92 percent.
Important announcements of RBI
The meeting of the Reserve Bank of India's Monetary Policy Committee has ended today. Central Bank Governor Shaktikanta Das announced the decisions taken by the committee after holding a press conference. This was the first MPC meeting for FY 2021-22. RBI has not made any change in the repo rate. It remains at four percent. The MPC has unanimously taken this decision. The Reserve Bank of India has projected a 10.5 percent increase in the country's GDP in the current financial year 2021-22. In the last meeting too, only a 10.5 percent increase in GDP was estimated.

Talking about the big stocks, today the shares of SBI, JSW Steel, Wipro, SBI Life, and IndusInd Bank closed on the green mark. Adani Ports, Tata Consumer, UPL, NTPC, and Titan stocks closed at the red mark.

If we look at the sectoral index, then all the sectors closed on the green mark today. These include private banks, media, PSU banks, banks, metals, IT, pharma, realty, auto, financial services, and FMCG.

Today Barbecue Nation was listed on Hospitality's stock market. Barbecue Nation shares were listed at Rs 492 on the BSE, while on the NSE the stock was listed at Rs 489.85. It finally closed at the level of 587.80. The issue price of the company was Rs 500 per share. After a weak listing, the company's shares rose strongly and during the business, it had jumped 20 percent to Rs 588.
