Today, on the last trading day of the week i.e. Friday, the stock market closed at a flat level. The Bombay Stock Exchange's flagship index Sensex closed up 41.75 points, or 0.09 percent, at 48732.55. At the same time, the National Stock Exchange's Nifty closed at 14677.80, a slight drop of 18.70 points or 0.13 percent. The BSE Sensex gained 424.11, or 0.86 percent, based on 30 shares in the previous week. On 13 May 2021, the domestic stock market was not traded for the festival of Eid-ul-Fitr across the country.

Talking about the big stocks, today Asian Paints, UPL, ITC, Nestle India, and L&T shares closed on the green mark. The shares of Tata Motors, Tata Steel, Coal India, Hindalco, and IndusInd Bank closed at the red mark.
Sectoral index tracking
If we look at the sectoral index, then today all sectors of FMCG closed on the red mark. These include PSU Bank, Auto, Media, Realty, Pharma, Private Bank, IT, Metal, Pharma, Bank, and Finance Services.
BSE net profit of Rs 31.75 crore in the fourth quarter
The net profit of BSE, the country's major stock market, stood at Rs 31.75 crore in the fourth quarter (January-March) of FY 2020-21. BSE said in a statement that earlier it had a net loss of Rs 1.91 crore in the same quarter of the financial year 2019-20. The stock market's operating income grew 27 percent to Rs 152.18 crore for the quarter ended March 2021 from Rs 119.56 crore in the same quarter of 2020-20 a year ago.
The Board of Directors of BSE has recommended a dividend of Rs 21 on equity shares of Rs 2 for the financial year 2020-21. It is subject to the approval of the shareholders. BSE's net profit for the entire financial year 2020-21 (January-March) increased by 17 percent to Rs 141.70 crore from Rs 120.61 crore in 2019-20 a year earlier. The operating income of the stock market grew by 11 percent to Rs 501.37 crore for the year under review, from Rs 450.51 crore in 2019-20 a year ago.
