The National Stock Exchange's Nifty closed at 14,724.80, a rise of 106.95 points, or 0.73 percent. The Sensex had risen 903.91 points, or 1.88 percent, in the previous week.

Talking about the big stocks, today shares of Hindalco, Hero MotoCorp, Tata Motors, Tata Steel, and Wipro closed on the green mark. On the other hand, shares of UPL, Bajaj Finserv, Sun Pharma, Power Grid, and NTPC closed at the red mark.
Monitoring of sectoral index
If we look at the sectoral index, today all sectors except Pharma, Private Bank, and PSU Bank closed on the green mark. These include realty, IT, FMCG, metal, auto, pharma, media, banks, and financial services.
Global market fluctuations
On Wednesday, the Dow Jones of America was up 0.29 percent to close at 97,31 points at 34,230.30. The Nasdaq was down by 0.37 percent to close at 51.08 points at 13,582.40. Japan's Nikkei index is trading at 29,349, up 536 points. China's Shanghai Composite Index dropped six points to 3,437. Hong Kong's Hangseng Index is trading up 18 points at 28,454. Korea's Kospi index gained 12 points to 3,159.
