Shares of HDFC Bank, HDFC, and Reliance Industries gained more than 200 points in early trade on Tuesday. Market sentiment was also strengthened by a positive global trend and inflow of foreign funds.
The 30-share BSE Sensex was trading at 21,987 points, or 0.55 percent, at 38,969.55 points in early trade. Similarly, the Nifty of the National Stock Exchange was up 60.330 points or 0.53 percent at 11,500.35 points.
Among Sensex companies, Titan's share climbed nearly two percent. Shares of Sun Pharma, HDFC, ICICI Bank, Bajaj Finance, NTPC, HDFC Bank, and Mahindra & Mahindra were also profitable.
On the other hand, the shares of Tech Mahindra, HCL Tech, Kotak Bank, ITC, and Bharti Airtel were in loss. The Sensex had closed at 38,756.63 points, a loss of 97.92 points, or 0.25 percent in the previous trading session. Similarly, the Nifty was also down by 11.480.05 points at a loss of 24.41 points or 0.21 percent.
