On the other hand, UltraTech Cement, Reliance Industries, and Maruti saw a decline. The Sensex rose 557.63 points or 1.15 percent to 48,944.14 in the previous session and the Nifty closed 168.05 points or 1.16 percent higher at 14,653.05 points. Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) sold shares worth Rs 1,454.75 crore on a gross basis on Tuesday, according to provisional data from the stock market. During this period, domestic institutional investors bought heavily.
