The Bombay Stock Exchange's leading index Sensex gained 32.10 points to 49,765.94 points and the NSE Nifty gained 30.35 points to close at 14,894.90.
Earlier in the day, the Bombay Stock Exchange's major index Sensex opened at a level of 50244.46 with a steep gain of 510.62 points (1.03 percent). At the same time, the National Stock Exchange's Nifty opened with a gain of 145.40 points, or 0.98 percent, at the level of 15009.90. Hong Kong's Hangseng Index was trading up 241 points at 29,250. China's Shanghai Composite Index declined by one point to 3,456. Korea's Kospi index was trading eight points higher at 3,190. Australia's All Ordinaries Index gained 31 points to 7,351. Japan's Nikkei index was trading up 29 points at 29,054. On Wednesday, the Dow Jones of America was down 164.55 points at 33,820.40, down 0.48 percent. The Nasdaq was down 39.19 points at 14,051.00, down 0.28 percent.

Talking about the big stocks, during the initial trading today, all the shares except HCL Tech opened on the green mark. Top leading stocks include Bajaj Finserv, Reliance, IndusInd Bank, HDFC Bank, HDFC, Bajaj Finance, ONGC, ICICI Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Nestle India, Maruti, Sun Pharma, etc.

The Sensex was up 356.27 points (0.72 percent) at the 50090.11 level during the pre-open at 9.03 am. The Nifty was up 102.30 points (0.69 percent) at 14966.80.

The market opened with a green mark on the third day of the week in the midst of the Corona crisis. The Sensex opened 122.50 points or 0.25 percent higher at 49,066.64, while the Nifty opened 0.39 percent or 57 points higher at 14,710.50.
