The stock market cautious on Tuesday on the second trading day of the week as investors reaped profits at higher levels after a run of eight consecutive trading sessions. Today the Sensex-Nifty closed at a marginal increase. The Bombay Stock Exchange's leading index Sensex gained 0.08 percent to close at 40625.51, up 31.71 points. At the same time, the National Stock Exchange Nifty gained 0.03 percent (3.55 points) to close at 11934.50.

Talking about the big stocks, today the shares of Infosys, HCL Tech, Kotak Bank, Reliance, and Ultratech Cement closed on the green mark. Cipla, Titan, Adani Ports, and ICICI Bank shares closed at the red mark.
Sectoral index tracking
If we look at the sectoral index, today all sectors except IT and metal closed on the red mark. These include FMCG, Pharma, PSU Bank, Private Bank, Finance Services, Bank, Media, Realty, and Auto.

The Sensex started today at 40533.04, down 60.76 points, or 0.15 percent. At the same time, the Nifty opened at a level of 11934.65 with a marginal gain of 3.70 points or 0.03 percent.
