Government oil companies have cut the price of petrol and diesel on Thursday. There was no change in the prices of both fuels yesterday.
According to Indian Oil, a leading public sector oil marketing company, in four major metros of the country, the price of petrol has come down by 14-16 paise whereas diesel price has come down by 19 to 20 paise.
In Delhi, the petrol price was reduced by 15 paise to Rs 81.40 per liter, while diesel became cheaper by 19 paise and the price per liter was reduced to Rs 72.37. Petrol in the commercial city of Mumbai declined by 14 paise to Rs 88.07 per liter and diesel by 19 paise to Rs 78.85 per liter.
In Kolkata, petrol became cheaper by 14 paise and diesel by 19 paise. The prices of petrol and diesel were reduced to Rs 82.92 and diesel to Rs 75.87 per liter respectively. Petrol-diesel prices have also been cut in Chennai. Petrol prices were down by 13 paise to Rs 84.44 per liter and diesel by 18 paise to Rs 77.73 per liter.
