After revision on a daily bases in retail fuel prices, the price of petrol decreased by 8-9 paise but the prices of diesel increased by 5 paise across four major cities in the country on Friday (May 17).
In Delhi, petrol is being sold for Rs 71.10 per, 8 paise less than as against Rs.71.18 per litre yesterday's price. Diesel retailed at Rs. 65.96, 5 paise more than yesterday's rates.
In Kolkata, the retail prices of petrol and diesel are Rs 73.17 a litre and Rs 7.71 a litre respectively, according to data available on Indian Oil Corporation website.
In Mumbai, citizens have to pay Rs 76.71 (8 paise decrease) a litre for petrol, and diesel is sold at Rs 69.11 per litre, 5 paise more than yesterday’s rate of Rs 69.17.
Petrol prices were reduced in Chennai by 9 paise to Rs 73.79 while diesel retailed at Rs 70.39 per litre, (5 paise increase) from yesterday's rate.
