Petrol and diesel prices in the domestic market remained steady for the 34th consecutive day on Thursday. In the international market, however, after the softening of crude oil prices in the past, now it has started strengthening. Decreased oil storage in the US has also supported crude oil prices. On the other hand, Russia is not in favor of increasing oil production at present. Because of this, oil prices in the international market were supported.
The last cut in the price of diesel in the domestic market was on October 2, while the price of petrol has remained stable for the last 44 days. The price of petrol was last seen on September 22 from seven to eight paise per liter.
In the international market, however, the prices of crude oil are not very high. Oil storage in the United States has caused weakness in crude oil due to concerns over further demand. At the same time, Corona is also worried about the demand from increased cases of the virus. The United States and Europe are concerned about the demand for the second wave of Coronavirus. According to Indian Oil, a leading oil marketing company, petrol in Delhi today stood at Rs 81.06 while diesel remained stable at Rs 70.46 per liter.
