Railway Board Chairman Vinod Kumar Yadav has released the e-pass module for online pass generation and ticket booking by railway employees. Under this, now railway officials and employees can apply online for e-pass from anywhere and can get it online.
Earlier employees had to visit the department to facilitate the rail pass. During the paper process, there was a possibility of misuse of the rail pass facility, but now the entire data will be updated online. The system will give all the information related to the e-pass to the officers and employees within a few seconds. After getting this facility, employees will not need to take the pass to the ticket counter and keep it safe during the journey. Now only the code on the mobile has to be saved. This code has to be filled in the form while reserving the seat.
Earlier, the railway employees had to take a paper ticket with the paper pass issued from the section with the personnel department for reservation. But with the introduction of the e-pass facility, the entire system has become paperless. Now railway officials and employees will be able to book tickets at home like ordinary people. This will also bring transparency.
Gazetted officers get six in a year and three rail passes on retiring. Through this pass, he and his dependents travel free rail. Non-gazetted employees are given three passes a year and two passes on retirement. Railway personnel also get four PTO i.e. Privilege ticket order. They have to pay a third fare to travel through the PTO.
