On Friday, gold rose by Rs 10 to Rs 49,410 per 10 grams. On Thursday, 24-carat gold was Rs 49,400 per 10 grams. The price of 22-carat gold today is Rs 48,410 per 10 grams, while it was priced at Rs 48,400 per 10 grams according to good returns a day earlier.

The strengthening of the US dollar has led to a fall in gold prices globally. The price reached Rs 56,200 last month and since then it has come down by about Rs 6,000.

However, the price of gold is expected to rise in India in view of the festive season. India ranks second in terms of gold consumption, while China is at the top position.

Silver price today rose to Rs 2,700 per kg, from Rs 57,000 per kg on Thursday to Rs 59,700 per kg on Friday.
