Gold prices fell on Friday. Gold was trading at Rs 46665 per 10 grams on the Multi Commodity Exchange at 10 am and silver was trading up by Rs 28 to trade at Rs 67502 per kg.
In the international market, gold declined marginally to $ 1,777 an ounce, while silver remained almost unchanged at $ 26.29 an ounce.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the price of gold fell by Rs 73, or 0.16 percent, to Rs 47,020 per 10 gram for delivery in June.
Gold demand in India rose by 37 percent to 140 tonnes during the January-March 2021 quarter from the same period last year. During this period, the demand for COVID-19 increased due to the relief, softening of the price of gold, and the suppressed demand.
