Cooperation : HDFC Bank will run scholarship program for students affected by Corona, know what are the conditions?


HDFC Bank has announced the launch of the Covid Crisis Support Scholarship for students. Let us tell you, this scholarship has been started for the students who have been affected by Kovid-19. Under this, students can become a part of HDFC Bank's Parivartan program for their social responsibility. Along with the scholarship program, this scheme is also for those pursuing UG, PG, and Diploma courses. Under this scheme, students will be provided one-time financial assistance ranging from Rs 15,000 to Rs 75,000.

For the scheme, the bank created a corpus of nine crore rupees

This scheme is available for those students who have lost one or both of their parents and earning family members who have lost their employment during the pandemic. The bank has created a corpus of Rs.9 crore for this scheme. About 3,200 students will be helped under two categories of this change. This includes 1,800 school students and 1400 college students.

Students' education is important

Ms. Ashima Bhatt, Group Head, Business Finance & Strategy, Administration & Infrastructure, said, “Students are the future of our nation and their education is important. The pandemic has taken a serious toll on many families across the country, affecting the education of many students. In this time of crisis, we are keen to support talented young individuals who are going through hardships due to the pandemic. As socially responsible corporate citizens, we will extend our support in every way possible. That's why we have started the scholarship program.

These students will be eligible to apply

He said that students whose annual family income is less than Rs.6 lakh per annum and who are studying in Indian Boards and Universities will be eligible to apply. This is the second scholarship program run by the bank. He informed that HDFC Bank also has a flagship program- Educational Crisis Support Scholarship (ECSS), under which the acceptance of applications was started in March 2021. As of June 2021, more than 63 thousand applications have been received in various categories, and out of 3100 planned scholarships, 800 have already been disbursed. Keeping this trend in mind, the Bank has launched the Parivartan ki Covid Crisis Support Scholarship. The scholarship program will be managed by Buddy for Study India Foundation which will host one of the largest scholarship platforms in India.
