The craze of SUVs is increasing in a big country like India. In today's era, SUVs account for about 30 percent of the market. Even in the SUV segment, the demand for sub-compact SUVs is quite high. There are many reasons for this, one of which is that it easily fits into the budget of the people, is big and muscular in appearance and their maintenance cost is also not more than any hatchback. CITROEN C21: French automaker, Citroen will start offering locally developed products in India from the second half of 2021. The first model will be a sub-4 meter SUV, codenamed C21, which will take on the Kia Sonnet, Nissan Magnite, Hyundai Venue, and the Renault Kiger. Some media reports have also claimed that it will be named Citroen C3 Sporty, the new model will be based on Groupe PSA's CMP (Common Modular Platform) which can also be seen in the Peugeot 208. The new Citroen C3 compact SUV will be powered by a 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine that can generate power of up to 130bhp. A 5-speed manual gearbox will be offered as standard, while a DCT automatic gearbox may join the latter line-up. The Citroen CC21 could be the first car in India to feature the flex-fuel system, which will be fully compatible with the 1.2L petrol engine facility with ethanol blending on biofuel, starting at 27%.
Jeep Compact SUV: American SUV maker, Jeep will introduce a sub-4 meter SUV in the Indian market in late 2022 or early 2023. Called the Project 526, the new compact SUV will share the underpinnings and mechanics with the Citron C21 compact SUV. It will be based on the CMP platform. The upcoming Jeep sub-4 meter SUV could be the first model in its segment to feature the AWD system. The SUV will be powered by a 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine. Whose power output will be close to 130bhp. The SUV is likely to get a front-wheel-drive system as standard, while an all-wheel-drive system will be offered on the Special Edition.
Vitara Brezza: Maruti Suzuki will launch the second generation Vitara Brezza around the second half of 2021 i.e. Diwali. The new Brezza will be based on Suzuki's lightweight HEARTECT platform which can also be seen in the new Ertiga. The new platform Maruti Suzuki Brezza will incorporate modern connectivity features like connected car tech, advanced infotainment system, etc. The SUV will also get a factory-fitted sunroof. The new Vitara Brezza is expected to come with a 1.5-liter naturally-aspirated petrol engine and a robust hybrid system. Instead of a 4-speed torque converter, the new compact SUV is likely to get a new 6-speed automatic gearbox
