Tata car has emerged as a popular choice in the premium hatchback segment after the country's leading automaker Tata launched the Altroz in the Indian market earlier this year. Which is ahead of rivals in the Indian market in terms of sales, such as Toyota Glanza, Ford Freestyle] Volkswagen Polo and Honda Jazz. It is currently the best-selling product in the company's portfolio.
The company will introduce it in 2021 with a turbo petrol motor to boost sales of UltraZ Turbo Petrol and DCT. The new turbo petrol motor will also have a DCT option. Which will be available with top-spec variants. Let's say that the company will use the 1.2-liter 3-cylinder Revotron turbocharged petrol motor found in Nexon. Which is capable of generating maximum power of 118 Bhp and torque of 170 Nm. At the same time, this motor generates a power of 109 bhp at 5500 rpm and 140 Nm of torque at 1,500 to 5500 rpm on the Altrose.
The company currently offers this car with a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol motor and a 1.5-liter diesel unit. The power and torque outputs are 85 Bhp, 113 Nm, and 89 Bhp, 200 Nm respectively. Both engines are offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox. While there is no AMT option, its sales numbers are limited so far.
No information has been revealed about the price of Tata Ultrose at the moment, but it is believed that the company can offer it for less than Rs 10 lakh. So it will be lower in price than its rivals. Let me tell you, this car is credited by Global NCAP as one of the safest cars on Indian roads.
