New Delhi. With the COVID-19 pandemic getting better, the auto market is slowly regaining its lost momentum. The automakers are also gearing up with the scheduled launches of new products and the remaining part of 2021 could be exciting for the auto market. One of the segments that have gained a lot of popularity in recent times has been the SUV market and with the introduction of mini-SUVs and crossovers, this segment has become even bigger. With a series of launches expected before Diwali, the option pool in this segment could be huge for the buyers. Here is a list of SUV launches that are expected to be launched before Diwali. So let's know about it -
Mahindra XUV 700
When it comes to SUVs, Mahindra has earned itself a reputation for meeting the expectations of the customers. The Indian manufacturer will unveil its all-new Mahindra XUV700 packed with features including Auto Booster headlamps, panoramic sunroof, smart door handles, safety alerts, and driver sleep detection. Though the official date of launch is yet to be confirmed by the company, spy shots of the test vehicles were shared online by several people. The XUV 700 will be available with 2-liter turbo petrol and a 2.2-liter turbo diesel engine with the option of manual and automatic transmissions.
Tata has tried to assert its market presence with the launch of several new cars in recent years and another HBX mini-SUV in the list could be expected soon. Based on Tata's 'ALFA' platform, the mini SUV is likely to be powered by a 1.2-liter NA petrol engine that generates 86 PS of power along with 113 Nm of peak torque. While the company is yet to reveal the look and design details, several spy shots of the HBX Mini from its test run were shared online by people.
Volkswagen is also expected to introduce its mid-size SUV Taigun in the Indian market. The SUV will be based on the same platform MQB A0 IN that featured the recently launched Skoda Kushaq. Both the SUVs get the same engine setup which includes 1-liter TSI petrol and 1.5-liter TSI petrol options. While the engine configuration on the Taigun is similar to the Kushaq, the vehicle will come with several differences when it comes to looks and other convenience features.
Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus
One of the most popular SUVs on Indian roads, Mahindra Bolero is also expected to get a new variant called Bolero Neo Plus. It is expected to be a 9-seater SUV that will sport taller dimensions than the recently launched Bolero Neo. The vehicle was earlier expected to be launched as Mahindra TUV 300 Plus. In terms of configuration, the Bolero Neo Plus is expected to come with a 2.2-liter turbo diesel version that is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission gearbox.
MG Motor is also planning to expand its presence in the Indian market with the launch of a new midsize SUV which is expected to be named 'Astor'. While the company is keeping the launch and feature details of the SUV undercover, the MG Astor is available in the international market in two engine options which include a 1.5-liter NA petrol engine with 115 PS power and 150 Nm of peak torque. Another option is the 1.0-liter turbo petrol engine that produces a maximum of 112 PS and 112 Nm of torque.
