Passenger vehicle sales increase in India, up 11 percent in January

Demand for the scooter is also fast

Scooter sales grew 9.06 percent during this period. The scooter sold 4,54,315 units in January 2021 as against 4,16,567 units during the period a year earlier.

Threewheeler sales decrease

However, sales of three-wheelers declined by 56.76 percent. In January this year, 26,335 units of three-wheelers were sold, while in January 2020, 60,903 units were sold.

Last month, sales of all categories of vehicles increased 4.97 percent to 17,32,817 units as against 16,50,812 units in the year-ago period.
