New Maruti Alto can be launched at a starting price of just 3 lakhs, read this special report on design, engine, and power

The country's largest automaker Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the new generation of its popular Alto hatchback. Some time back it was reported that the new model of Alto will be launched in the second half of 2021. However, now this car is likely to be launched next year. So let us explain in detail, what is the report on the launch, engine, power, and features of this car:

Testing came last year: The new Maruti Alto was seen during testing last year. However, no specific information has come to the fore regarding this yet. The 2022 Maruti Alto will be powered by a 769cc 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine. Which also does duty on the present generation. This gasoline unit generates maximum power of 48bhp and torque of 69Nm. There is no word on this at the moment, but it is rumored that with this car, the manufacturer may offer Suzuki's Smart Hybrid technology along with a factory-fitted CNG kit. There will be an option between manual and AMT in the gearbox.

A long list of features to be included: If reports are to be believed, the new Maruti Alto 2022 will underpin Suzuki's lightweight Heartect platform that has already been used in Swift, DZire, and Ertiga. Interiors can get a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It could also come equipped with a new instrument cluster, all four power windows, and keyless entry. Standard safety kit will include dual airbags, a speed alert system, reverse parking sensors, ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution), and driver and co-driver seatbelt reminders.

There will be major changes in the design: The spy image that has surfaced shows that this hatchback will retain its original boxy design. While its overall length and width will remain unchanged, most of the design changes are expected to be done on the front end. The 2022 Maruti Alto is likely to come with a redesigned grille, headlamps, and bumpers as well as a revised rear profile with redesigned taillamps.
