Malfunction in this electric car, due to full charging, there is a risk of fire

General Motors has said on Thursday that it will launch a recall and software update to recall about 69,000 Chevrolet Bolt electric vehicles, keeping in mind the fire risk. If needed, the battery module assemblies will also be replaced by the company during this recall. The purpose of this recall is to remove the problems faced by the car by keeping the car owners safe from any possible danger and to provide them with better-conditioned cars.

Let us tell you that the legendary car manufacturer announced the recall of the Chevrolet Bolt electric vehicles designed from 2017 to 2019, after the incident of fire in five cars in November. The batteries in these cars are manufactured by LG Chem Ltd in South Korea. On behalf of the company, it has been said that with the help of problem-finding tools, we will check the batteries of this car and replace them when needed.

They will install advanced onboard diagnostic software in these vehicles, with the help of which any problems encountered in the car can be detected and the performance of the battery module or problems in it can also be known.

General Motors was told in November that when these vehicles are fully charged or charged slightly less than full charging, there is a risk of fire. To reduce this danger, he has designed software that will limit the charging of this car to 90 percent so that there will be no risk of fire due to car charging.

GM said Thursday that once the software update is complete, dealers will remove the 90% state of charge limit and return the battery to its previous 100% charging capacity.
