AUTO UPDATE: Benelli introduced its electric scooter, which runs 60km in a single charge


Italian automaker Benelli has introduced a new electric scooter for the Asian market. Which is named Dong. The scooter is designed by the Chinese parent company of Benelli, the Qianjiang Group. However, the company has not yet disclosed in which markets of Asia this scooter will be launched. Currently, the brand has announced its prices in the Indonesian market.

A 1.2kW motor has been used to power the Dang scooter, which is limited to a top speed of up to 45kmph. At the same time, the company claims that this electric scooter is capable of giving a range of 60 km in a single charge. It has a 1.56kWh swappable battery. If we estimate based on the Indonesian price, it has been broadly priced at Rs 1.9 lakh.

This Benelli e-scooter is equipped with a curvy front apron, which goes to the rear section in a cylindrical shape. It has an under-seat panel under the battery and electric motor. The company will make it available in three color options - Blue, Dark Gray, and White. Other highlights of its design include full-LED lighting, a circular LED DRL, handle-on turn indicators, large grab rails at the rear, and a negative LCD for the instrument cluster.

It is designed by Chinese automaker Qianjiang Motors, owned by the Italian bike brand. The price of which is 36.8 million Indonesian Rupiah, which is 1.89 lakhs according to Indian rupees. For information, let us tell you, there is no possibility of this scooter being launched in India. This scooter is designed for short-distance urban traffic only.
