The auto sector has been badly affected by the Corona lockdown. However, as the economic activity is picking up after the relaxation of lockdown, the sector is returning to awe. In July, the picture of the country's auto sector has been revealed, many things are revealed. The country's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India (Maruti Suzuki India) managed to double its sales in July 2020 as compared to June 2020 last month. The lockdown enforced since the last week of March greatly affected sales to prevent the epidemic from spreading. Not a single car was sold in April. Following the concession in the lockdown rules, automobile companies' plants, showrooms, dealerships reopened after which there has been some improvement in sales figures. Although the status before the lockdown is not yet reached, the demand is seeing a gradual increase.
Sales of the company's small cars have increased drastically in July. Alto and WagonR sales rose 49.1 percent to 17,258 units from 11,577 units in the same month last year. However, sales of the company's compact cars Swift, Celerio, Ignis, Baleno, and Dzire declined by 10.4 percent to 51,529 units during the same period. It was reduced to 57,512 units a year ago.
