Xiaomi Mi 5X smartphone with MIUI 9 unveiled


Chinese corporation Xiaomi unveiled new Xiaomi Mi 5X smartphone. Xiaomi’s first smartphone to run Android 7.0 Nougat based MIUI 9 and priced at CNY 1,499 (around Rs 15,000). The new Mi 5X will be accessible in Gold, Black and Rose Gold colour options.

The new smartphone measures 155.4mmx75.8mmx7.3mm and weighing 165g, the handset sports a metal unibody design with rounded edges, and has a 2.5D curved glass on the front.

The USP of the Mi 5X is its dual rear camera (12MP+12MP) setup. It also reaches with one camera which is used for telephoto zooming and the other is used for wide-angle shots. A 5MP front-facing sensor with real-time beautification feature also involves the mix.

Talking about the other features, the Xiaomi Mi 5X is motorized by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage space. It also supports microSD cards of up to 128GB in size, having 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, GPS/A-GPS, USB Type-C port and 3.5mm headphone jack as connectivity options and is also backed by a 3,080mAh battery.

The new smartphone characteristics fingerprint sensor at the back, and supports DHS Audio Calibration Algorithm for better audio quality output. The smartphone attains a ‘Smart Assistant’ which lets consumers search something on their smartphones. It also has a built-in Image Search that permits consumers to search images inside the gallery based on names and locations, functionality similar to that of Google’s Photos app.
