Chinese Smartphone Maker Company Xiaomi has unveiled Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus handsets in Chinese markets during event that took place in Beijing on Thursday. The handset comes with aspect ratio of 18:9.
Xiaomi Redmi 5 handset has a price tag of CNY 799 (approx Rs. 7,800) for the 2GB RAM/ 16GB storage variant whereas 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage variant involves price tag of CNY 899 (approx Rs. 8,800). Redmi 5 Plus 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage variant involves cost of CNY 999 (approx Rs. 9,700) and 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage variant involves price tag of CNY 1,299 (approx Rs. 12,700).
The sale of handset will get start from December 12. The customers will be able to purchase handset in Black, Gold, Light Blue, and Rose Gold colour options.
Coming to features of phone, Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus handset has dual-SIM (Nano-SIM). Redmi 5 phone boasts 5.7-inch HD+ display that comes with pixel resolution of 720×1440 whereas Redmi 5 Plus handset involves 5.99-inch full-HD+ displays that involves 18:9 aspect ratio. The handset supports octa-core Snapdragon 450 SoC. Redmi 5 has 2GB and 3GB whereas Redmi 5 Plus involves 3GB and 4GB storage variant.
Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus boasts 12-megapixel rear camera that supports f/2.2 aperture, PDAF, flash. On the front, it has 5-megapixel camera to take selfies. The handset has fingerprint sensors on the rear side.
Xiaomi Redmi 5 involves 16GB or 32GB of internal storage that can be expandable using microSD card whereas Redmi 5 Plus handset has 32GB or 64GB of internal storage. Other connectivity options involve 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, 3.5mm headphone jack, Micro-USB. Redmi 5 has 3300mAh battery whereas Redmi 5 Plus boasts 4000mAh battery. It has a size of 151.8×72.8×7.7mm and weight of 157 grams whereas Redmi 5 Plus has a size of 158.5×75.45×8.05mm and weight of 180 grams.
