He said that the arch bridge, which is part of the ambitious project of the railway connecting Kashmir with other parts of the country, will have arrangements for terrorist hazards and earthquake protection.
The bridge is being built at a cost of Rs. 1250 crores. Built on an altitude of 359 meters from Chenab river, this bridge is also 30 meters high from the Eiffel Tower in Paris. It is expected to be ready in May 2019.
Member of the Railway Board (Engineering) MK Gupta said that Jammu Kashmir is an area of terrorism and earthquake. In such a situation, the Railways will establish security mechanisms in consultation with the defense forces to deal with any such threat.
