World No. 2 Kidambi Srikanth to become Deputy Collector of Andhra Pradesh


The Cabinet declared a reward of Rs. 2 crore, a 1,000-square yard plot in Amaravati to French Open Men’s Singles title holder Kidambi Srikanth on Thursday. Apart from it, he has been given a job of a Deputy Collector.

This decision was taken by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday during Cabinet meeting that was held at Secretariat in Velagapudi.

On the other hand, the Cabinet also determined to issue a reward of Rs. 15 lakh to badminton chief coach Pullela Gopichand and Rs. 11.25 lakh to coach Sudhakar Reddy.

Chandrababu Naidu applauded Mr. Srikanth on triumphing four super series titles in a single season by defeating few world’s best badminton champions.

Srikanth clinched 27 of the 31 matches in year 2017.
