Women constables suspended for taking selfies in hospital room of acid attack survivor in UP


Uttar Pradesh Police have suspended two ladies constables who purportedly clicked a selfie with a acid assault suffered inside the trauma centre of a Lucknow healing center.

A Satish Ganesh, inspector general (Lucknow zone), named the three constables “uncaring” and said “Prompt move will be made against them”. Two of them – Rajni Bala Singh and Daisy Singh – were suspended after an inquiry while a test is on against the third.

The 45-year-old lady was supposedly compelled to drink acid by two men on board a train, denoting the fourth such assault on her by a similar group of suspects.
