Woman Who Accused Railway Cops Of Rape Caught Extorting Money

THANE: The lady, who was supposedly assaulted by four jawans of the Railway Protection Force from the Diva station of Central Railway, was secured coercing cash from one of the blamed in lieu for pulling back her grievance, police said today.

The assault survivor, a wedded lady, was caught in the act while tolerating Rs. 90,000 from RPF constable Pradeep Singh, 57, in an inn in Thane on Friday evening.

Police had laid a trap in Dwaraka inn of Dombivili in the wake of recording a discussion amongst her and the jawans, Police PRO Sukhada Narkar said. The lady was later set collared the previous evening. She had requested Rs. 1,11,000 from the constable.

Two different people – Mohan Bitla, who assumed the part of an agent between the survivor and the jawans, and a columnist of a main newspaper – have likewise gone under the scanner for the situation.

While Mr Bitla has been captured alongside the lady, the columnist has been reserved under area 384 r/w 34 of the Indian Penal Code, police said.

The lady is an occupant of Diva and works in a boutique at Dombivili.

Prior this week, the four jawans were reserved under segments 376 (d), 328 rw 34 of IPC after the lady blamed them for sexually manhandling her in a RPF lodge at Diva after purportedly spiking her beverage.

The Thane Railway Police which had then enlisted the offense against the four, later exchanged the case to Mumbra police, which is currently examining the whole scene. Taking after assertions of assault, all the four RPF jawans were suspended. Police is currently testing whether the casualty constrained payoff requests on the jawans prior too.
