Woman was hacked to death allegedly by a stalker in Pune


A 31-year-old wedded lady was hacked to death purportedly by a stalker in Kothrud range in Pune on Tuesday morning when she was on her way to work, police said.

Shubhangi Khatavkar, was an inhabitant of Karve Nagar and used to work as domestic help.

Police said the charged, Vishwas Kalekar, used to disturb her all the time and was attempting to build up nearness with her. But she had protested his advances and was even scolded by her better half.

"Kalekar, who was angry over being denounced by Khatavkar's better half, taken after her in the morning when she was en route to chip away at a moped. He assaulted her on her neck with a sharp weapon and later got away on her vehicle. He additionally took away two SIM cards from her cell phones," an officer of Alankar Police Station said.

An instance of murder has been recorded against the denounced and a manhunt has been propelled to catch him.
