Clock Tower police on Friday evening seized Rs 29 lakh and captured a man professedly included in gathering cash for cricket wagering. Police are cheerful that the examination will uncover name of some greater bookie dynamic on national level.
In light of a tip-off, police began taking after the denounced Parkash Bachhani (36), an occupant of Ramganj in Ajmer. "We seized Rs 29 lakh from him on Friday and captured him. While taking a gander at the system of this wagering racket, we discovered a few names from Jaipur," said Raminder Singh, SHO, Clock Tower Station. tnn
Sources said that the fundamental employment of Parkash was to gather cash from nearby bettors and later send it to greater bookies. "The racket was running under the name 'Passage'. Names of a few bookies from Rajasthan have come to fore and their fundamental office is said to be in Mumbai," the authority said.
Police included they were confirming the numbers and names found from the blamed and will take help for police of various states to get different bookies and individuals from the racket.
"It is yet to be confirmed whether the cash they gathered from wagering stayed in the nation or went to different countries," a source said.
Police have adequate proof of national level wagering racket and Parkash was one of the bookies, the source included.
