To strengthen the digital payment facility in India, social messaging app ‘Whatsapp’ has achieved initial approval of Bhim UPI based transaction. Indian National Payment Corporation (NPCI) said in a statement issued here that Whatsapp has been allowed to launch the beta version of Bhim UPI.
In the beginning, WhatsApp will allow 10 million subscribers to use it. The payment limit has also been fixed for this. In the coming week, four banks will join Bhim UPI model and after the success of the beta version, the full version of Whatsapp Bhim UPI payment will be made available.
