WhatsApp on Tuesday has launched Desktop App for Windows and Mac. The new App is available at the Company’s website and interested users can download if from there. This company even began WhatsApp Web 14 months ago.
It should be noted that this App is available for the Windows 8 and above and Apple’s Mac Os 10.9+. WhatsApp said in a blog, “We are launching our desktop App, so that you can stay connected with your loved ones anywhere and anytime either with your phone or laptop.”
Significantly it is the first time a popular messaging app is also being provided on another device. WhatsApp Desktop works very much like the WhatsApp Web. It is featured to copy all the messages and chats from the phone directly. New WhatsApp Desktop App will be synced completely with the present WhatsApp. This app will run on the desktop separately; that means you will get a separate notification on the desktop.
To use WhatsApp Desktop App, user has to open WhatsApp web in the settings and then scan the QR code on the desktop. Before doing so, make sure that user is using the latest version of WhatsApp in Android, iOS, Windows Phone or Blackberry.
Just note that the WhatsApp on desktop is still mirroring content from your smartphone, so you’ll need a constant data connection to continue chatting. If you’re on a limited data pack, better use the WiFi to access WhatsApp from the desktop.
