Director-producer Shoojit Sircar says Amitabh Bachchan, who is playing a legal advisor in the anticipated thriller "Pink", is a smart on-screen character. At a select meeting, Shoojit said, "We were pondering whom to cast in this legal advisor part. Whether to take a youthful performing artist or middle-age or any senior on-screen character. In the interim, Piku was going to finish. So we were talking about why not cast Amitabh Bachchan in this part."
"I informed him about the film and let him know that I need to cast him in this present attorney's part and said I think he ought to be a piece of it. Amitabh Bachchan is an astute performing artist. He simply heard five minutes of the portrayal and said how about we shoot," he said. Discussing the script the "Vicky Donor" helmer said, "Ritiesh (Shah) is the spine of the script. The throwing of the young ladies was not hard but rather to characterize the characters was troublesome. Step by step instructions to imagine the characters and how a functioning young lady in Delhi faces distinctive circumstances, how a legal counselor contends in session court, every one of these things must be made. I would give all credits to the author."
About the other cast, Shoojit said, "Tapsee (Pannu) was our quick decision for the part. Next, for Andrea, we thought a North East performing artist for a working young lady's part would be best. Furthermore, for Kirti, we knew her some time recently." Asked what enlivened him to make Pink, "The thought originated from Aniruddha (Roy Chowdhury). He needed to make a Bengali film. We thought the subject is very significant in today's opportunity. At that point the significant choice we took was to make a Hindi film since it's to a greater degree a national issue," the maker said.
