West Bengal CM Mamata meets Rajnath to overlook Darjeeling violence, flood situation


West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is all set to met with Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday to talk about Darjeeling violence and the currently going flood situation in Darjeeling.

The people witnessed heavy rainfall in the valley on Monday. Several districts of West Bengal faced  flood-like condition in many areas.

The officials revealed that some rivers including Midnapore’s river Shilabati have been flowing above the danger mark.

Thousands of people are badly affected due to continuing rainfall in the low areas. Several areas including Burdwan’s Asansol, Hooghly’s Baidyabati, besides West and East Midnapore faced the situation of water logging.

As per the Meterological Department, Kolkata received 83 mm of rainfall on Monday.

Road transport and rail services were also affected in Darjeeling.

No one has got wounded in the heavy rainfall.
