New Delhi: The Delhi Anti Corruption Bureau has asked former chief minister Sheila Dikshit to join the investigation into the Rs 400-crore water tanker scam. Special Commission of Police and ACB chief M.K. Meena on Thursday said, "We have issued notice to Sheila Dikshit for questioning on August 26 in connection with Water tanker scam case,"
The notices were sent on Wednesday under the provisions of section 160 of the CrPC. A case was registered by the ACB on June 20 in connection with the alleged scam linking Ms. Dikshit. Former Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, whose final tenure was plagued with controversies, Dikshit was summoned on July 6 by the ACB in a matter related of buying about 2.5 lakh water metres in 2011.
The officer said a case was registered with the ACB in 2014 on charges of manipulating the tender process and favouring only one company.
