Antigua: Players from the Indian cricket team, like Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane and others met the West Indian legend Sir Viv Richards, ahead of the first cricket Test between India and West Indies.
Skipper Virat Kohli, always the inquisitive student of game, had a long conversation with Richards even after his teammates were done with clicking selfies with one of the best batsman game has ever seen.
"What a memorable moment. With the greatest ever. Words of pure gold from him. Feel grateful that I could have chat with him. He's the man. Sir Viv. Memorable," Virat posted his first reaction on Instagram. Shikhar Dhawan and Ajinkya Rahane followed.
"Enjoyed having little conversation with great Sir Viv Richards. Still feeling happy," said Shikhar.
For Rahane, discussing aggression with the most feared batsman of his time was the proverbial cherry on cake. "So happy to meet Sir Vivian Richards. What a man! So many things to learn from him. Specially his aggression on the field. Legend," tweeted the Mumbai batsman.
India play their first Test against the host West Indies at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua from July 21 and this small meeting with one of the biggest heroes from the Caribbean will certainly pump up the team morale for the rest of the tour.
