Vidya Balan was starring in a female-centric film titled Begum Jaan where she along with other female characters live in a brothel who become the victim of partition between India and Pakistan. Vidya Balan will be taking on the avatars of Rani Lakshmibai, Razia Sultana and Mirabai in an important sequence in her future post-Partition drama, Begum Jaan, at present being shot in Delhi.
Amongst them, Vidya Balan will also start taking horse-riding lessons for the film. She will be training with a special coach for an hour, earlier to her hair and make-up everyday so that she begins to feel comfortable riding a horse. While horse riding does not form a major part of the film, a few scenes will involve Vidya to ride a horse and the actress wants to be completely prepared for it.
"The horse was a little energetic and Vidya who was battling it out as Razia Sultana slipped off. But being the professional that she is, she resumed shooting within a few minutes of the incident”, sources said.
Begum Jaan is a remake of Srijit Mukherjee's Bangla hit Rajkahini which was critically acclaimed. Produced by Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt, the remake is set in Punjab. The cast includes Gauahar Khan, Pallavi Sharda, Flora Saini, Ila Arun, Mishti and Ridhima Tiwari among others and is scheduled for early 2017 release.
