Tennis player Venus Williams won third round of the women’s singles match by defeating Ukraine’s Elina Svitolina by 2-6, 1-6 in Rogers Cup tournament that took place on Friday.
In the starting of game, Svitolina took a 5-0 lead against the opponent player to clinch the game.
Ukrainian tennis player also shattered 14 winners even as making only 10 voluntary faults during the game against Williams.
Though, it must be pointed out that Williams had been playing exceptionally well before pre-quarterfinals match. In Toronto, Williams secured her first-ever triumph with a conquest against Romania’s Irina-Camelia Begu ahead extensively sideways Ericsson Open champion Katerina Siniakova in the second round of game.
After clinching Wimbledon and Australian Open finals in 2017, American will chase her third U.S. Open crown in September.
Apart from it, third-seed Angelique Kerber of Germany also eliminated of the tournament in women’s singles clash over American tennis player Sloane Stephens.
