New York: Tennis Champion Sania Mirza – Peng Shuai are all set to secure their place in the semi-finals of the US Open tournament. On Wednesday, the duo will play final-eight match of the women’s doubles.
Saina and Peng Shuai will play against fifth-seeded squad of Hungary’s Timea Babos and Andrea Hlavackova of Czech Republic on Wednesday to clinch position in the final-four.
On the Grandstand court, Mirza and Shuai showed terrific performance by defeating Sorana Cirstea and Sara Sorribes Tormo by 6-2, 3-6, 7-6 in just two hours and 18 minutes.
Indo-Chinese pair won their third-round match against the Romanian-Spanish team in a remarkable way. They took lead of 4-0 against the opponent player.

In August, Saina Mirza and Peng Shuai partnered before the commencement of US Open Series. Now, the duo had reached to the semi-finals of the 2017 Western and Southern Open in Cincinnati ahead of falling to a straight-sets against Taiwanese-Romanian pair Hsieh Su-wei and Monica Niculescu.
